This was my second look at Carson, and the twitchy RH hitting centerfielder is quickly growing on me as a next-level prospect that college coaches need to keep tabs on in the 2027 class. More compact in height with wiry strength, just about everything he does on the baseball field comes with a twitchy burst to it and has high intent. He loads with an athletic move, gets to the launch position ready to hit, and when he pulls the trigger, the turn, hand path, and barrel path all explode through the zone with twitch. The twitch has turned into an intriguing impact for Carson, who has picked up 12 hits on the spring, but four of them have gone for extra base hits (one double, one triple, and two home runs). He stung a hard single through the left side in this game and then lofted a well-struck ball to CF on an elevated breaking ball later in the game. That athleticism doesn’t just show in the batter's box, but also on the bases, where he has already stolen seven bases in 14 games. Plus, in the OF, he explodes on baseballs with a quick first step to cover ground, making him a true centerfielder with impact potential at the spot and, for good measure, a solid arm (went back on a drive to deeper CF and threw a one-hopper to 3B narrowly missing throwing a runner out). There is still polish needed to the overall profile for Carson, but the foundation of what he presents as an athlete and player makes this RHH OF one to start keeping tabs on.
