The younger brother of Brady and son of Dino, Trey could be considered to be waiting in the shadows for his turn to shine in the spotlight and with my multiple looks over the course of the last few months the compact solidly built 5'11 185 lbs. INF is right on track for his time. From a year ago when I first saw Trey as a rising Soph. at this event where he looked solid, but slightly overmatched by some of the older competition at the event to now one year later he not only looked comfortable facing off against the high level talent, but amongst the best potential players there. Much like older brother Brady, Trey laced line drive after line drive during batting practice using a compact quick turn with a direct bat path that shows leverage through the zone. His contact stayed primarily to hard line drives through the gaps of the field, but did show a few swings where he caught it out front with lift to the pullside giving some HR power potential in the future for him. But, I would see more high end hit tool in the profile than power which suits his approach/operation in the box just fine. Working out a 2B he looked like a strong defender at the spot who plays with rhythm, clean footwork, soft smooth hands, and a strong arm for the spot. I've seen him play SS/3B at other points and there is plenty of ability in the profile to project a potential future for him on the left side, but overall it's a versatile profile on defense that has locked into one spot being the best one for him. The game was more solid than spectacular for Ebel who worked a series of quality at bats although it didn't result in any hits he made solid contact in each plate appearance. In one of his trips to the dish facing off against Benton Hickman he shot a line drive to the right side of the field, but into the glove of the opposing. For his next plate apperance he faced off with Bryce Collins and stayed through a FB that he lined hard into RF, but resulted in a L-9. The willingness to go to the opposite field and relatively shorter/flatter swing path profiles more of a high hard contact profile versus an impact profile which gives him a solid top of the order table-setter profile or potentially back of the lineup depth piece at the next level, while providing solid INF defensive with the potential to be a strong defender. The Texas A&M commit will be a vital piece of the stacked Corona HS program in the spring and then when the summer showcase circuit kicks off the level to which he can create impact at the plate and where he eventually slots in defensively for his future profile will be key pieces to what the next step of his career will be come the end of high school baseball for him.

2025 SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA MLK WEEKEND SCOUT NOTEBOOK: The Texas A&M commit shows athletic actions and is a seasoned defender with quick feet and advanced glove work. The junior hit a couple deep opposite field foul balls and a deep flyout to right center field. Ebel showed excellent hand manipulation in swing with a leveled weight transfer and noticeable bat to ball skills. The talented infielder should have a productive year playing up the middle while in a loaded lineup for the Panthers.
