I liked what I saw from Nightingale who put together a solid performance at the plate, finishing 1-4 with an RBI double and three well-struck balls against Escondido. The LHH showed a compact and repeatable swing with a toe-tap trigger, staying balanced and smooth through contact. There’s minimal effort in the swing, but plenty of impact when he connects—evidenced by the consistent barrel quality in the live look. Nightingale’s approach is calm and confident, with the ability to work the count and jump on pitches in his zone. His double was squared up and hit off the RCF wall, which drove in a run and further showed why he’s been a reliable middle-of-the-order presence for Ramona. Now hitting .340 on the season with 18 RBIs, Nightingale is producing at a high level in his sophomore campaign and showing signs of even more power to come. His swing efficiency, approach, and consistent hard contact make him a name to keep an eye on down here in Northern San Diego County.
