Joey Dormann (Class of 2027, RHP/1B, 6’2”, 193 lbs) owned an ideal pitcher’s frame with long limbs, broad shoulders, and room for continued strength gains, supported by strong grip strength numbers (R: 144.7, L: 129.7) and solid athleticism that translated well on the mound; he was the top velocity arm at the event, sitting 82.8–84 mph and touching 84.5 with a fastball that showed advanced carry (2230+ RPM, up to 22.2" IVB, 5.8" HM), giving it true riding life in the zone, while his curveball (70.5–72 mph, 2300+ RPM, -14.3" IVB, -9.2" HM) featured sharp vertical drop and his slider (73–77 mph, 2350+ RPM, -11.4" HM) showed late lateral bite, giving him a legitimate three-pitch mix with strikeout potential. Offensively, Dormann showed solid bat-to-ball skills and emerging power with a 95.1 mph max exit velocity, 83.7 mph average EV, and a 347 ft max distance, along with 79 mph infield velocity, but his primary projection was clearly on the mound as a high-upside right-handed pitcher. Dormann will be a key part in the success, of a young and talented Rio Americano squad.
