Arm: RH. C - 75 mph. 3/4 slot, fluid action.
Defense: 2.03-2.14 pop times. One knee down stance, jab step footwork, quick transfer.

Uncommitted. Currently listed at 6-foot-1, 193-pounds. Simple delivery that goes into a crouched position during the leg lift. Shoulders slightly turn closed before working in-line with home plate. Working with three pitches out of an easy, controlled 3/4 arm slot; he was attacking hitters early with a two seam fastball type, sitting 78-81 mph throughout the outing. Off the fastball was a slider with a gradual 10/4 bite, coming in at 70-74 mph and setting up a changeup at 76-77 mph.
C AJ Foley (Lake Zurich, 2025) is a strong/durable backstop listed at 6-foot-1, 195-pounds, and he came away a winner on both sides of the ball this past Saturday. The right-handed hitter starts with his hands high, working them down into a steep path while looking to stay on top of the baseball, consistently working up the middle of the field with a max EV of 92.7 mph. Foley has a controlled operation on throws down to second, staying low and in his legs while working in-line. Clean transfer of the ball, arm works short into a high ¾ slot, reaching as low as 1.97 for his pop-time with a max velocity of 78 mph. Flexible lower-half while receiving, looks to work under the baseball and present pitches around the zone for strikes, deadens the ball out front on blocks.

Foley entered the tournament as an intriguing bat to follow, and showed well throughout the day on Friday for Athletes HQ. His performance was highlighted by a triple down the right field line. Standing at 6-foot-1, 195-pounds, Foley utilized an opposite field approach in this one, allowing the ball to travel as he squared it up for both of his hits, including the aforementioned triple. Despite not catching, Foley has previously showcased a live arm and quick feet behind the plate, ranging his pop times between 2.01-2.12 seconds at the McHenry Preseason ID. The incoming junior will be in attendance for the Illinois State Games between August 8th-9th.
