LHP Aiden David (St. Patrick's, 2026) is a well-proportioned, 6-foot, 185-pound frame, David gave a good look on the mound, striking out two and allowing only two hits through his two innings. The left-hander sets up with a wide base, medium leg kick, and drop and drive motion. The arm works from a clean and quick short arm action from the ¾ slot. Dealing with a two-pitch mix, the fastball was sitting 87-89 mph, jumping out of the hand with 19.3 IVB, and the slider was 75-77 mph, with sharp break, working low and away with 2200 RPMs. When David was commanding in the zone, hitters couldn't keep up with the fastball and put on uncomfortable swings with the off-speed.
Positional Profile: LHP/OF
Body: 6-0, 185-pounds. Lean, athletic frame with more room to fill out.
Delivery: Wide base, medium leg kick, drop and drive lower half, works in-line.
Arm Action: LH. Clean, quick short-arm action. 3/4 slot.
FB: T89, 85-88 mph. Firm with arm-side run. T2129, 1979 average rpm.
SL: 76-78 mph. Sharp break, sweeper profile with positive IVB, works low and away. T2512, 2291 average rpm.
David would get the start during game one of the Saturday doubleheader, and despite the outcome, showed quality stuff, ultimately striking out nine and only walking one across 5.1 innings of work. Athletic 6-foot, 185-pound frame. The left-handed arm showed repeatable actions on the mound with a medium leg lift and low-3/4 release. Additionally, David sported a quality two-pitch mix that tunneled well off of each other, including a mid-80s fastball with significant arm-side run and a low-70s curveball that generated tons of swing-and-miss on the day thanks to its sweeping action. An uncommitted name to follow as we head into the summer.
