At an imposing 6-foot-2, 195-pound frame, Geiger (Plainfield East, 2025) controlled the strike zone, throwing a complete game in Rhino’s 8-2 win Friday night. Over the seven innings pitched he racked up eight strikeouts; three looking and five swinging, while only surrendering two runs on four hits. The right hander displayed mound presence, a ¾ arm slot, short arm action, slight third base side landing spot, and a fluid motion. Fastball sat from 78-80 mph with a higher perceived velocity due to arm extension. Curveball being used as a putaway pitch sat from 66-67 mph, and a rarely used changeup sitting from 73-75 mph. A quality performance for the uncommitted Geiger.
