RHP Blake Heyer (Montini Catholic, 2026) turned in an impressive performance at the State Games, striking out four and only scattering one hit in his two innings of work. Presenting a durable 6-foot-1, 206-pound frame with present strength, he showed three different offerings throughout the outing. His fastball got swings and misses in the zone at 85-88 mph (T89) with life and ride through the zone, while going to a sharp slider often at 72-75 mph, and rounding out his arsenal with a 71 mph curveball, playing with an 11/5 shape.

Blake Heyer, RHP Montini, 2026 Uncommitted. Currently ranked No. 113 in the state. 6-foot-1, 196-pounds, round shoulders with some present strength throughout. Started on the mound for the Broncos and was dominant over his four innings of work, not allowing a single hit or run, walking one and striking out seven. The right-hander has an up-tempo delivery, active feet before his windup starts, simple and clean delivery with a shorter balance point, works with a drop/drive lower-half down the mound and in-line. Clean arm path, high ¾ release. He attacked hitters with the fastball, working it to both sides of the plate in the 84-87 mph range, still sitting 83-84 mph in the fourth. His curveball was his best off-speed in this look, playing around 66-71 mph with depth and sharp bite for swing/miss. Flashed a shorter, bullet slider in the mid-70s. Starter profile, attacks the zone and works quick.

RHP Blake Heyer (Montini Catholic) had a quality two-inning outing during his time at the State Games, finishing the day with four strikeouts and one hit allowed. He stands in a strong 6-foot-1, 196-pound frame with some projection still to come. On the mound, Heyer worked with pace, displaying a clean, over-the-top arm path, working fastballs up to 85.8 mph, but sitting mostly 82-85 mph. He threw two separate breaking balls in this outing; a curveball in the upper-60s with an average of -18.4 inches of horizontal movement and a slider at 68-74 mph with an average of -14 inches of horizontal movement. Heyer also threw a splitter with minimal spin, and a cutter at 79-82 mph. Uncommitted name-to-know.

Long and lean right-handed pitcher with plenty of projection as he grows into his frame. Worked at a quick tempo on the mound to keep hitters off balanced. Drop and drive delivery, works in line with a closed landing. Stab draw out the glove, long and loose arm action with easy arm speed from a high ¾ slot. Fastball sat 73-75 mph, touching 76 mph. Attacked the outside half of the zone and competed in every at bat.

Power: 62 mph exit velocity from the tee.

Delivery: Smooth tall and fall delivery, stays on-line and repeats.
