6.16.16 - 5-foot-10, 178-pound catcher/infielder, solid squared build. Right-handed hitter, balanced stance, leg kick trigger, smooth loading action, good timing, solid balance. Strong bat, attacks the baseball, hard contact on long path. Aggressive approach with some pull side pop tendences. 95 mph exit velocity from the tee. Advanced defender, showed well as a catcher/second base type prospect. Has soft hands and good footwork which works well at both positions. 6.98 runner in the 60. Arm played at 80 mph across the infield, 74 mph out of the crouch, over the top slot, short athletic arm action. Pop times ranged 1.94-2.01, quick clean transfer and solid willing blocker, agile feet behind the plate.
6.14.16 - 5-foot-10, 178-pound physically advanced prospect. Offensively, right-handed hitter, rhythm and plate presence. Flashed easy bat speed, strength through contact; recorded a 93 mph exit velocity off of a tee. Long, uphill bat path, gap-to-gap approach and good balance through contact. Balanced stance, slightly open, smooth load and leg-kick timing trigger. Also, ran a 7.08 60- yard dash. Defensively, in the infield, Fuentes flashed high level hands, quick and fluid glove to hand transfers and moved well laterally. Throws clocked at 79 mph across the diamond. Behind the plate, Fuentes, impressed with his catch and throw ability. He consistently threw sub 2.0 pop times, ranging from 1.92 to 2.01. Comes from a high ¾ slot, short arm action, throws flashed carry, clocked at 76 mph from the crouch. High level prospect.
