5.25.17 - Wabash Valley JC commit. Currently ranked No. 39 in the Illinois’ 2017 class. 5-foot-10, 178-pound, infielder with a strong, sturdy frame. One of the top defensive infielders in the Illinois’ senior class. Actiony defender, plays with energy and flair. Advanced hands, extremely confident, soft and receptive. Routinely picks throws out of the dirt, attacks the baseball, plays through and maintains body control on the move. Accurate arm, can throw from any arm angle and shows arm strength when the play dictates it. Could play anywhere on the infield. Offensively, right-handed hitter, balanced, closed setup. Loose hands, creates bat speed, aggressive swinger, looks to drive the baseball with authority, free-swinger mentality at times. Finished the day 1-for-4 with a two-run homerun to right-center field. Also, walked and scored two runs.

6.21.16 - Uncommitted prospect, recently moved in from Venezuela. 5-foot-10, 178-pound multi-positional athlete, strong frame, developed lower half. Right-handed hitter, high-ceiling potential, shows rhythm, strength and bat speed in swing. Balanced and athletic in the box, uses pronounced leg lift in BP (not in game), strong through contact, excellent extension through contact, slightly uphill path, natural loft in swing. Ball jumps off barrel, registered 94 mph exit velocity with wood. In game, barreled the ball in all three at-bats, finishing 1-for-3 with a single and a line-out to left field and flyout to centerfield. Defensively, can play multiple positions well, super-utility type. Primary catcher, highly athletic feet, quick transfer and release, average arm strength at 74 mph; gets out the chute well. Delivered top pop times of 1.93, 1.97 and 2.01. Also shows legitimate infielder actions. Athletic hands and feet, shows ability to throw from multiple angles on the move, quick release, above-average range, solid carry across the infield at 76 mph. Ran a 7.06 laser-timed 60.

6.16.16 - 5-foot-10, 178-pound catcher/infielder, solid squared build. Right-handed hitter, balanced stance, leg kick trigger, smooth loading action, good timing, solid balance. Strong bat, attacks the baseball, hard contact on long path. Aggressive approach with some pull side pop tendences. 95 mph exit velocity from the tee. Advanced defender, showed well as a catcher/second base type prospect. Has soft hands and good footwork which works well at both positions. 6.98 runner in the 60. Arm played at 80 mph across the infield, 74 mph out of the crouch, over the top slot, short athletic arm action. Pop times ranged 1.94-2.01, quick clean transfer and solid willing blocker, agile feet behind the plate.

6.14.16 - 5-foot-10, 178-pound physically advanced prospect. Offensively, right-handed hitter, rhythm and plate presence. Flashed easy bat speed, strength through contact; recorded a 93 mph exit velocity off of a tee. Long, uphill bat path, gap-to-gap approach and good balance through contact. Balanced stance, slightly open, smooth load and leg-kick timing trigger. Also, ran a 7.08 60- yard dash. Defensively, in the infield, Fuentes flashed high level hands, quick and fluid glove to hand transfers and moved well laterally. Throws clocked at 79 mph across the diamond. Behind the plate, Fuentes, impressed with his catch and throw ability. He consistently threw sub 2.0 pop times, ranging from 1.92 to 2.01. Comes from a high ¾ slot, short arm action, throws flashed carry, clocked at 76 mph from the crouch. High level prospect.
