RHP Cameron Barnes (Oak Park-Rover Forest, 2026) stands in a strong, physical 6-foot-3, 213-pound frame. He’s a simple mover on the mound with a compact and quick arm action. In this look, his fastball sat 86-87 mph with life through the zone. He then turned to a curveball that played with 12/6 shape in the mid-70s, and a splitter with straight downer action and slight fade. He’s an uncommitted junior to know in the state.

Barnes has an intriguing frame standing at 6-foot-2, 215 pounds. The right handed pitcher had an impressive outing against the Starters Select 16U. Going a complete game with five strikeouts. The fastball was sitting 82-84 mph and topping out at 86 mph. The curveball ranged from 70-71 mph with quality shape. Mechanically he has a fluid delivery and throws from a high ¾ slot.
RHP/1B Cameron Barnes (Oak Park-River Forest, 2026) was another 2026 who made his presence felt with his right-handed bat as well as his ability on the mound. Barnes has a 6-foot-2, 215-pound, long, strong build and showed an above-average three-pitch mix on the mound. His fastball climbed to 84.7 mph but it was his secondary that really separated Barnes. His 72-73 mph curveball played with depth and 12/6 downer shape with feel. He also kills spin (792 rpm average) on a splitter at 75 mph that played with late action. Offensively, he swung with controlled aggression, stayed on played and was consistently on the barrel back up the middle of the diamond.

Defense: Steady footwork, reliable hands. Two-hand gather, glove plays deep in the body.

Delivery: Controlled tempo, high leg lift, drop/drive lower-half, stride works in-line.
Arm Action: RH. Short to the ear into a 3/4 slot.
