A 6.7 runner, Godinez possesses lightning-quick hands at the plate, and showcased surprising power over the summer. He hit a homer at the Stevenson Showcase, and continued to flash power throughout, even though he only hit 2 during the spring. Godinez is also extremely quick in the field and can play either middle infield spot. As a junior, he swiped 16 bases and drove in 15 as the teams leadoff hitter. A quick-twitch athlete, Godinez is one of the top middle infield prospects in the state. The 5-foot-10, 170-pound Godinez ran a 6.75 60, second-best at the event. His athleticism also translates in the field, where he showed extremely quick hands, feet and rhythm, along with solid arm strength (80 mph). At the plate, the right-handed hitter demonstrated good bat speed and a line drive-producing swing. ... Godinez impressed in all facets of the game, and emerged as one of the most impressive middle infield prospects in the state. Godinez ran an event-best 6.81 60, and shined in the field as well, demonstrating extremely quick hands, transfer, and all-around middle infield actions. At the plate, Godinez is short and quick to the ball with excellent barrel whip and the ability to hit to all fields.
