This hard-throwing left-hander verbally committed to the University of Illinois in late August. Armed with one of the best fastballs in the state, Kimes has recorded 166 strikeouts to 53 walks in two varsity seasons for Ottawa. As a two-time all-NCIC first-team selection, Kimes has posted an 11-7 record with a 3.01 ERA, while allowing 49 earned runs and 72 hits in two seasons.
