Uncommitted. Got the start on the mound for the Shamrocks and also batted out of the three-hole. On the mound, he is an athletic mover down the mound at a sturdy 5-foot-11, 185-pounds. His arm plays with a longer draw out of the glove while moving loosely from a short ¾ arm slot. Alvarado showed a high feel to spin both of his offerings, with his fastball playing in the 83-85 mph range with 2400-2500+ rpm. His slider showed to be a wipeout offering at 73-76 mph with 2800-3000+ rpm. He attacked opposing hitters with both offerings and had the ability to land both pitches for strikes at a 71% clip. The right-handed hitter also had two knocks in the game with a long triple and a double hit to a similar spot in deep centerfield. He has a wider setup in the box with his hands pre-set by his midsection. He uses a short toe-tap stride while swinging with a short and direct bat path that backspinned balls with authority to the deepest part of the field. With his two-way ability, keep an eye on Alvarado the rest of the spring in the middle of the Shamrocks lineup and at the top of their rotation.
3B/RHP Elias Alvarado (Saint Patrick, 2025) has some of the more off-the-charts raw spin that we’ve seen all winter. His slider, at 73-75 mph, averaged 2974 RPM and reached as high as 3038 RPM in this ‘pen. Alvarado’s 68-69 mph curveball spun on average at 2833 RPM (T2875 RPM) and even his fastball, at 84-86 mph, showed advanced raw spin traits (T2575 RPM, 2505 RPM avg).

Body: 5-11, 175-pounds. Well-proportioned build.
Delivery: Up-tempo, drop and drive type delivery. Front side opens early.
Arm Action: RH. Long arm action, high 3/4 arm slot.
FB: T79, 75.7-78.4 mph. Plays straight. T2287, 2204 average rpm.
CB: 60.6-61.7 mph. 11/5 shape. Slurve type action. T2252, 2132 average rpm.
CH: 69.9-70.7 mph. Sinking action. Maintains arm speed. T1827, 1775 average rpm.
CUT: 64-66 mph. Averaged 2309 rpm and gets advanced horizontal movement at times.
Hit: RHH. Tall setup, smooth load and short stride. Controlled aggression, long, level path and elevates the baseball to the middle of the field.
Power: 87.3 max exit velocity, averaged 71.9 mph. 251’ max distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 77 mph. Short arm action, high 3/4 arm slot. Long to release.
Defense: Pre-pitch hop. Balanced footwork. Natural infield actions.
Run: 7.72 runner in the 60.

Hit: (RHH) Started in a tall narrow stance with a controlled load, then used a long stride. Above average bat speed. Long uphill swing. Aggressive gap to gap approach.
Power: 82 mph exit velocity.
Defense: (IF) Soft hands, smooth athletic footwork, quick clean exchange. Confident. Glovework is shown out front
Arm: 67 mph infield velocity. Short arm action, ¾ slot.
Speed: 7.79 (60-yard dash).
Pitching: Drop-and-drive delivery, some effort. ¾ arm angle, long arm action. In line shoulders, lands square.
FB: T75. 74-75 mph. Slight running action.
CB: 62-65 mph. Sweeping action, 11/5 shape.
CH: 70-72 mph. Low in the zone consistent control, late sinking action.
