Swings, with intent, gap-to-gap approach, natural lift in swing, creates leverage. Finished 2-for-2 with a run, RBI and walk. Defensively, steady defender at third base. Ability to make the routine play and accurate arm across the diamond.

2/19/18 - Cruz is a long and lean 6-foot-3 190—pound left-handed hitting third baseman in Illinois’ 2019 class. He ran a 4.51 home to first and has a 96 mph exit velocity. At the plate, open stance, calm leg left, body stays under control, in line stride, loose hands, quick bat speed, hit the ball hard and flat consistently to pull side, aggressive swing.  On the infield, three quarters release, 80 mph positional velocity, athletic actions, plays though the ball, quick transfer with loose arm action, feet and hands work on time together, build will add more strength and power down the road.
