Making his Prep Baseball event debut, LHP Henry Johnson (Glenbard West, 2025) stamped his name as one to know in the state’s junior class. A long, wiry build at 6-foot-5, 185-pounds, Johnson created all kinds of movement with his fastball and change-up. A loose, clean delivery with a quick arm out of a low ¾ slot, his fastball sat 81-84 mph, topping out at 84.8 mph, with -16.1 inches (avg.) of horizontal movement and 15.6 inches (avg.) of vertical movement, showing noticeable rise/run during the ‘pen. He maintained the same slot and arm speed as his fastball while throwing his change-up that sat 73-74 mph with -18.1 inches (avg.) of horizontal movement. He also mixed in a low-70s slider with a short, sweeping break. The levers, ease of delivery, quick arm, and movement on pitches makes Johnson an intriguing arm in the class.
