Illinois-Springfield commit, currently ranked No. 105 in the Illinois 2022 class. Hit out of the two-hole and impressed behind the plate throughout the game. Defensively, showed soft/receptive hands when receiving, working to present pitches; he moves well on balls in the dirt, blocking to each side and deadening the ball out front. Showed to manage the run-game extremely well, back-picking often and popping a 2.14 in-game; quick transfer with a strong arm, playing with backspin and carry to the bag. At the plate, the left-handed hitter put together an impressive at-bat against premier velocity; seeing the ball well out of the hand and working with quick hands to the ball, often pulling pitches at 90+ mph. Starts with an open, slightly crouched setup, high leg-kick timing trigger, foot gets down early; strong hands through the ball with an uphill path, easy bat-speed. Reliable catch-and-throw backstop with a knack for hard contact.

Strong bat speed, ball will jump of the bat to both fields, three-hole hitter. Defensively showed soft hands, projects as a C/3B type, arm action is short and over the top, showed a 2.29 pop between innings.
3/5/17 - 5-foot-9, 155 pound, left-handed hitting catcher. Offensively open setup, leg kick stride with toe tap, good balance throughout, fluid rhythm. Line drive hitter, consistently squared the ball up, occasionally hit gap-to-gap, flashed bat speed, short and uphill barrel path. Registered an 80 mph exit velocity. Defensively, traditional catcher’s arm action, throws were around the bag, 67 mph. Clean on exchanges, comes out of crouch on-line. Recorded pop times between 2.26 and 2.39. 7.87 laser-timed 60.
