The long and athletic left-hander served as the big-game pitcher for the Ramblers. Pitching in the toughest conference in the state, Richmond took on many of the top teams and held them in check, including tossing a complete-game three-hitter against Mt. Carmel and a complete-game shutout in regional play against Notre Dame. Richmond finished with a 2.77 ERA and struck out 40 in 44 innings. ... Richmond is a projectable 6-foot-4, 175-pound left-hander who threw three pitches for strikes. He pitches from a high-3/4 slot, and his arm works with little effort. His fastball topped at 81 mph, sitting in the 78-79 range. His 71 mph changeup looks to be a solid out-pitch, as it demonstrated some arm-side fade. Richmond's curveball checked in at 64-65 mph. Long and loose left-hander has a lot of upside. The 6-foot-4, 180-pound Richmond has a prototypical-pitchers frame. The lanky left-hander touched 76 on the mound throwing with steep, downhill plane. His best pitch was a change up with late fade that he commanded well to his arm side. Richmond should add velocity as he develops physically.
