OF Jackson Smith (Alleman, 2028) is an athletic sophomore that had a quality performance at the event. Standing at an athletic 6-foot-1, 187-pound frame with a strong lower half and additional room for added physicality. Athletically was one of the top ‘28s in attendance as well running a 6.89 60-yard dash with a 1.65 10-yard split in addition to jumping 27.2 inches on the vertical. At the plate the right-handed hitter swung an athletic and accurate barrel with feel to consistently driving the ball through the middle of the field, reaching a peak EV of 96.6 mph with an average of 91.3 mph. Defensively the outfielder worked around the baseball with some range with an accurate arm up to 84 mph. On the mound the right-hander tossed an intriguing ‘pen showing feel to repeat a simple and easy delivery with a clean and quick arm action. Three pitch mix, the fastball cruised in the low-80s (T83.3 mph) with life, showed feel to turn over a running changeup in the zone while flashing a breaking ball with 11/5 action.
Uncommitted, Smith hit a go-ahead two RBI single in the top of the 7th against Sterling. Finished a quality week going 4-for-10 with three walks, four RBIs, four runs, and three stolen bases.
