10.11.15 - 6-foot-1, 175-pound right-handed pitcher, squared shoulders, lean shape. Delivery plays directionally, firm upper half, uphill shoulder tilt at balance point, firm front side. Arm action has length, high ¾ slot. Fastball showed good finish through the zone, arm side run, 84-86 mph. Curveball looked best out of the stretch, flashed depth, 67-70 mph. Changeup found the strike zone regularly, good sinking action, probably best off-speed pitch, 72-75 mph.

7.23.14 6-foot-1, 180-pound right-handed pitcher impressed with the top peak fastball velocity at this year’s Class of 2016 Open Showcase at 87mph.  Fastball sat 84-86 mph from short, quick, over the top arm action. Hands break high, with some choppiness in delivery due to toe flick/kick at balance point.  Stride is shorter for size, but fastball is thrown aggressively.  62-64 mph breaking ball shows occasional 12/6 shape but lacks consistency.  69-72 mph changeup was straight.  Mechanically, Miller lacks refinement, but his frame and fastball velocity can’t be ignored.  It’ll be interesting to follow his progress over the next two years.
