In our second look this summer, catcher Joey Raineri continues to show a potent right-handed swing with above-average bat strength. The physical 6-foot-2, 220-pound, stands in the box with a purpose to do damage. Raineri swings with controlled aggression, strong hands and natural loft throughout. Raineri flashes loud contact and works gap-to-gap with authority.

Body: 6-2, 220-pounds. Strong body, evenly proportioned.
Hit: RHH. Tall, open, wide base, slight leg kick. Aggressive swing, strong hands, natural lift in swing and works gap-to-gap. Swings stays on plane and made loud hard contact at times.
Power: 90 max exit velocity, averaged 78.7 mph. 329’ max distance.
Arm: RH. C - 71 mph. Short, arm over the top, gets on top of the baseball, throws on target.
Defense: 2.22-2.36 pop times. Clean exchange, clean footwork.
Run: 8.00 runner in the 60.
The 6-foot-2, 220-pound, backstop stays long through the zone, getting extension and driving balls consistently to the middle, pull-side of the diamond. His hardest batted ball came off the bat at 95 mph and traveled 338 feet. Raineri also registered the top on plane efficiency of the event averaging 84 %.
