RHP Josh Jones (Normal University) had a strong two-inning stint, not allowing a single run on just one hit, one walk and three strikeouts. The 6-foot-1, 176-pound right-hander cruised in the 82-85 mph range with the fastball, topping out at 86 mph with some control over the zone. His go-to secondary was a curveball at 73-76 mph, playing just under 2,300 rpm at times with tight, sharp 11/5 action.
Positional Profile: RHP/OF
Body: 6-1, 176.4-pounds.
Delivery: Clean delivery into high leg kick, utilizes lower half well, rocks back and works off back leg.
Arm Action: RH. Quick arm out of a 3/4 slot. Fired two scoreless innings with one hit allowed, three strikeouts and one walk.
FB: T86, 83-85 mph. Plays firm out of the hand, lives in the bottom of the zone. T2084, 1919 average rpm.
CB: 74-76 mph. 11/5 shape, shorter action. T2288, 2128 average rpm.
CH: 76-76 mph. Slight running action out of the hand. T1638, 1638 average rpm.
Displaying a strong and lengthy frame with a long lower half, Josh Jones was impressive in his outing for the Rhinos. The righty threw three innings only allowing three hits and striking out four. Mechanically, Jones rides his back leg with a high leg kick while throwing out of a 3/4 arm slot fully extending his arm in his delivery. He is relaxed on the mound as his pitching looks effortless. Jones has a firm 83-85 mph fastball that touched 86 mph with a diving 73-75 mph changeup and a sharp 70-73 mph curveball. His arsenal had hitters off balance throughout the entire game.

Body: 5-11, 168.9-pounds. Lean frame, high-waisted, projectable.
Delivery: Athletic mover with control, high leg lift with tuck and coil, drop/drive down the mound, in-line.
Arm Action: RH. Long, loose arm action, 3/4 slot.
FB: T87, 82-85 mph. Clean out of the hand, mostly straight. T2143, 2107 average rpm.
CB: 70-72 mph. 11/5 shape, can land for strikes. T2289, 2040 average rpm.
