Uncommitted. Athletic 5-foot-11, 170-pound frame with room to add strength. Started at third and hit out of the six-hole. Schol impressed Thursday, even though he didn’t record a hit, he still showed upside. The right-handed hitter operates from a bent, balanced base with a small stride. Showed quality bat-to-ball abilities from a compact swing with a flat bat path. Showed some easy power on a flyout. Smooth defender on the left side with a strong arm.
Keegan Schol (Illinois Valley Central, 2027) showed an athletic 5-foot-10 145 pound frame on the mound Saturday for Canes Illinois Frazee. Schol threw 4.2 innings, striking out nine batters while walking three and only allowing one hit. His fastball sat 79-82 mph, T83 with late life which he paired with a sharp slider at 72-76 mph . Mechanically, Schol threw out of a high ¾ arm slot with a loose arm and worked quick on the mound to keep hitters out of rhythm.
