King

4/1/14 - Ranked No. 132 in the state and committed to Western Illinois. King showed plate discipline, working a couple at bats deep into the count and showing no fear of diving into inside pitches. Slender frame and not much strength, but short contact orientated approach.  Defensively showed smooth actions and impressive body control, especially on a double play transfer off a bad feed that pulled him off the bag.  Fielded four chances cleanly, ranged well to his left up the middle. Arm showed good carry and accuracy across the diamond.

1/22/12 King is a 5-foot-10, 145-pound shortstop who showed solid range in the field. His throws (77 mph) were on-line and accurate.  Offensively, King has a balanced setup and sprayed line drives to the opposite field.
