Verbally committed to Valparaiso, Gaedele carried his strong high school season into the summer, when he showed off his impressive combination of size, speed and arm strength. In the spring, Gaedele batted .354 with six home runs and 26 RBI while going 5-5 on the mound. At the Stevenson Showcase, Gaedele ran a 6.91.
