Bat works level through the hitting zone, line-drive approach. 87 mph exit velocity from a tee. Defensively, worked out behind the plate and on the infield. Behind the plate, soft, receptive hands, quick release, traditional catcher arm action, works short and over-the-top; 74 mph from the crouch and pop times ranged between 2.10-2.19. On the infield, athletic actions, sure handed, active feet, plays through the baseball. Loose arm action and throws topped at 79 mph across the diamond. 7.57 runner in the 60, laser-timed.
6/11/18 - 5-foot-10, 165-pound, athletically-built catcher. Defensively, long arm action, over-the-top slot, kept throws around bag with some carry, 74 mph out of the crouch. Soft receiver, fluid footwork, quick, clean exchanges, pop times ranged 2.10-2.20. Ran a 7.43 laser-timed 60. Offensively, open, narrow setup, toe-tap stride. Line drive hitter with pull-side tendency, barrel path works long and level through the zone, 80 mph exit velocity.
10.15.17 - 5-foot-10, 165-pound catcher/infielder, average build. Arm plays short and over the top with quick release out of the crouch, 75 mph out of the crouch, 78 mph across the diamond. 2.11-2.18 pop times. Projects best behind the dish. Right-handed hitter, open setup, long stride. Loose levers, showed bat speed, 87 mph exit velocity from the tee. 7.50 runner in the 60.
7.27.17 - 5-foot-8, 135-pound, wiry, right-handed hitting catcher. Led off, tall, open setup at the plate. Disciplined approach, did not chase out of the zone. Hit a line-drive single to left field in his first at-bat and later scored. Defensively, flexible and agile behind the plate. Hands work soft with ability to stick pitches in the zone. Short, over-the-top arm action, throws were accurate and stayed true.
