Koth was a member of Team Illinois this past summer at the Junior Future Games and has continued to elevate his game ever since. Listed at an athletic, high-waisted 6-foot-2, 182 pounds, the right-handed hitter ran a 7.02 60, topped at 85 mph from the outfield and showed a balanced swing with strength, while generating lifted contact up the middle with loud results (T97.2 mph max EV). On the mound, he also offers intrigue thanks to his loose, fluid movement patterns and a fastball that topped at 81 mph. Upside follow in the 2029 class.
OF/RHP Mason Koth (Jacobs, 2029) looks every bit of one of the top freshman to follow in the state. The right-handed hitter was on the barrel throughout his round with a peak EV of 95 mph, showing athletic hands with easy strength from launch, staying up the middle and pull-side. 6-foot-0, 155-pound frame, impressed in the Raiders win over Riverside. In his first at-bat, he showed quality pitch recognition, able to stay back and get his hands through a curveball to one hop the left field wall. In what should have been an easy double, Koth showed his athletic ability stretching it into a hustle triple. In a later at-bat, he would show a quality swing just getting under the ball and flying out to the warning track.
