RHP Miles Woolsey (Mahomet-Seymour, 2025) was a standout at the Illinois Summer Championships earlier in the summer and provided another impressive look in his most recent trip to Rantoul. The 6-foot, 181-pound right-hander touched 88.5 mph on his fastball’s firmest bullet, pitching at 85-88 mph across his two innings of work. Perhaps more impressive, however, was the feel he had for a fading 75-78 mph changeup that he consistently threw down in the zone to left-handed hitters, and he also flashed strike feel for a low-70s breaking ball.
Positional Profile: RHP/OF
Body: 6-0, 181.2-pounds.
Delivery: Quick mover, flexible lower half, long stride with extension, slight uphill tilt, sits on back leg.
Arm Action: RH. Smooth/athletic action, 3/4 slot.
FB: T88, 85-88 mph. Late life with carry, creates extension. T2479, 2339 average rpm.
SL: 71-76 mph. Tight horizontal break. T2432, 2381 average rpm.
CH: 75-78 mph. Heavy arm-side fade. Tunnels effectively off of fastball. T2232, 2149 average rpm.
RHP Miles Woolsey (Mahomet-Seymour, 2025) is another uncommitted arm to know from Tuesday’s event. Woolsey stands in an athletic frame at 6-foot, 181-pounds with strength, too. He’s a loose, athletic mover on the mound with a clean, quick arm path out of a ¾ slot. He showed an impressive three-pitch mix, starting with an 86-87 mph fastball with quality spin (avg. 2217 rpm). He showed a low-70s slider with short, horizontal actions and an average of 2337 rpm. Arguably his best off-speed pitch was his change-up, which sat 72-74 mph with heavy fade, producing an average of 20.5 inches of horizontal movement. A must-follow uncommitted arm in Illinois’ incoming senior class.
6-foot-1, 160-pounds. Woolsey would close out the game Friday for his Yard Goats squad, pounding the zone and keeping the opposing Sparks lineup quiet. The right-handed pitcher threw from a 3/4 arm slot with a fastball in the 83-86 mph range while also flashing an upper-60s slider.

Body: 6-1, 180-pounds. Lean, athletic frame, room for more strength.
Delivery: Athletic mover, uptempo delivery, high leg lift with tuck, drop/drive delivery, in-line down the mound.
Arm Action: RH. Long, loose arm action, 3/4 slot.
FB: T88, 86-87 mph. Mostly straight actions, life through the zone. T2382, 2217 average rpm.
SL: 72-73 mph. 11/5 shape, shorter action, quality spin. T2432, 2337 average rpm.
CH: 73-75 mph. Heavy fade to the arm-side. T2038, 1994 average rpm.
