8/8/12 Wernke has an extremely projectable frame at 6-foot-4, 180-pounds – the type of frame that can easily carry additional muscle. On the mound, he has an easy delivery with a short stride that gets him over his front side well. His fastball sat in the 80-82 mph range, and topped at 85. His curveball showed some feel at 68-71 and can be a good secondary pitch for him. Offensively, he has a smooth swing and balanced approach, and he showed his athleticism by running a 7.16 in the 60 and throwing 83 mph from the outfield.
