1.18.15 - 6-foot, 135-pound lanky right-handed hitting RHP/MIF hits from an open setup, hands load smoothly, short stride, barrel whips through the zone, long, slightly uphill bat path, some lift to swing, feel for barrel, 78 mph exit velocity off the tee. Defensively, threw 80 mph across the diamond from long, loose, high ¾ arm slot with carry, average hands fielding, fluid footwork, winds up to throw the baseball taking some time getting rid of it. On the mound Aquino is one of the top prospects in Illinois’ 2018 class. Sat at 82-83 mph from short, clean, high ¾ arm slot, turns over rubber at balance point, rides lower half down the mound leading with front hip, smooth rhythm, lands square in line with home plate, athletic finish. 66-69 mph curveball flashed 11/5 shape, thrown for strikes. Also threw 74-75 mph changeup with advanced feel out front. Pitch is plus for his age, with arms side run and late finish. Aquino’s frame, loose arm, and feel for three pitches will make him a high follow prospect in the 2018 class.

3.9.14 - 5-foot-8, 120-pound, lean and lanky athletic two-way player with strong projection. On the mound he has an athletic delivery with smooth rhythm and athletic finish. Clean arm action works long and loose from a high ¾ slot. Fastball was 73-75 mph with running action. Had advanced feel and command of his changeup, throwing it 69-70 mph with high quality arm speed, arm side run, consistent strikes. Curveball was advanced for age, sitting 62-65 mph, 11/5 shape and solid action, for strikes. On the infield he moves well and plays through balls athletically. Arm works the same as on the mound, 76 mph across the diamond with carry and accuracy. Ran an 8.26 60. Hits from a balanced stance with a toe tap load and launch sequence. Swing is slightly uphill with solid bat speed. Exit velocity was 73 mph off a tee.

3/10/13 - 5-foot-3, 98-pound two way player. Athletic arm action, shows promise on the mound, athletic all-around player. On the mound showed advanced overall feel, clean delivery and arm action. Tall and fall delivery, smooth rhythm, ¾ arm slot, quick loose arm action. Fastball has slight run, finished through the zone, threw strikes, 66-68 mph. Changeup has sink, thrown with fastball arm speed, thrown for strikes, showed the ability to command it, 61-63 mph. Highly advanced feel for changeup. Offensively hits from a balanced stance, smooth load, short stride. Excellent pre pitch setup. Simple approach, repeats swing well, consistent contact, barrel awareness. Bat path is short with occasional extension, line drive gap to gap hitter. Defensively shows soft hands, advanced backhand, some body control. Arm strength is advanced for age, 69 mph across the infield, winds up to release the baseball.
