Haynes, who has an athletic, projectable frame, went only 4-6 during the spring with a 5.68 ERA. In 49.1 innings, he struck out 44 and walked 9. Offensively, he batted .462 with 13 doubles, 3 triples, 3 homers and 30 RBI.
