For consecutive seasons, Iffrig was a key component of Edwardsville’s state championship squad. Hitting in the three-hole nearly every game for the Tigers, Iffrig slashed .369/.544/.667 with 16 extra-base hits, including eight home runs, and his 51 RBIs are towards the top of the state’s leaders. He walked 36 times, and was hit by nine pitches, and struck out just 15 times, scoring 41 runs as well. Iffrig delivered for Edwardsville on multiple occasions throughout the season, including in the sectional semi-final against O’Fallon, where he swatted a pull-side home run to ignite the Tigers’ offense and plated two more runs later in the contest. Headed to Indiana State in the fall, Iffrig concludes his high school career as an integral part of two 4A state championship clubs.
Indiana State signee. Physical 6-foot-3, 215-pound left-handed hitter with strength throughout, currently slotted at No. 55 overall in the Illinois’ 2023 rankings. Started at first base and hit in the three-hole for the Tigers in this look. Balanced and quiet at the plate, doesn’t try to do too much. Long, level barrel through the zone, creates leverage out front with intent to elevate the baseball, has bat speed and bat strength to pair. Was on the barrel three times in this look, including a pull-side home run that ignited a Tigers’ rally and an opposite field single that plated a pair of runs. Produced all year long as a true middle-of-the-order threat for Edwardsville’s state champion squad.
Indiana State commit. Iffrig helped the Tigers go 5-0 on the week, including winning the 15th Annual Tiger Baseball Classic. On the week, Iffrig went 8-for-12 (.667) with three home runs, a double, 13 RBIs, nine runs scored and four walks. Iffrig went a perfect 2-for-2 with an RBI, four runs scored and a walk in their 16-3 win over Belleville West. In their 3-1 win over Glenwood, Iffrig added a home run with two RBIs, a run scored and a walk. Rounding out his impressive week, Iffrig went a perfect 3-for-3 with two home runs, eight RBIs and three runs scored in their 13-2 sin over Teutopolis.
Verbally committed to Indiana State.

6-foot-2, 166-pound, left-handed hitting first baseman; wide-shouldered, looks more physical than the listed weight. Was one of the more impressive offensive prospects at the event. Finished 2-for-8 with two RBI’s but seemingly made hard contact in every at-bat. Took consistent, quality at-bats, advanced approach. Looks for his pitch, stays on top of the baseball, bat stays in the zone a long time. Sprayed hard line-drive contact to all fields. Strong hands, fast bat. Worked mostly gap-to-gap but has potential pull-side power. Smooth defender at first base. Moved well around the bag, reliable hands. Cut down a runner trying to score on a ground ball to first; handled the play efficiently and threw a strike to home plate. Also, a follow left-handed pitcher but did not throw on the weekend.
