MIF Ryan Jackson (St. Viator, 2025) is an upside infield prospect to know from the scout day. 5-foot-10, 170-pounds, lean frame with room to add on strength. Loose, easy right-handed swing, controls his body well with athletic hands, 90.1 mph max EV, 321’ max distance. Clean, athletic defender, soft hands with fluid footwork, moves well to both sides of his glove with feel for the position.
Uncommitted. Started at shortstop for the Lions and made play after play on defense. An athletic 5-foot-9, 135-pounds, Jackson showed advanced actions for the position throughout the game. On more than one occasion he made tough plays up the middle that were off of deflections and took his body in a different direction than originally intended. He fields with confidence up the middle with an advanced glove, while also displaying the ability to be accurate from across the diamond from various arm slots.
Is an athletic middle infielder with a compact 5-foot-9 frame with room for added muscle. Defensively is where Jackson stood out throughout the weekend, at shortstop Jackson impressed with his range and reliable hands making a number of plays up the middle taking away hits. At the plate, Jackson collected seven hits on the weekend, five of those coming in bracket play during the teams championship run.
