6/11/16 - Drafted in the 38th round by the New York Yankees out of Notre Dame HS.

2.7.16 Super 60 - Arizona State recruit. 5-foot-11, 180-pound frame, wiry-strong, narrow shoulders, athletic feet. Highly consistent performer, does everything on the baseball field well. Top-level defensive catcher, fundamentally sound; athletic, directional footwork, gets out of the crouch efficiently, advanced receiver, soft hands; short catcher arm action, strong, highly accurate arm. Fired consistent strikes to second base, top pop times of 1.84, 1.89 and 1.94; 81 mph from the crouch. Equally as efficient and polished at the plate. Right-handed hitter, balanced, simple approach; quiet hands, level path, loose swing; high level of barrel awareness, works all fields, especially middle-right center; gap-to-gap approach, consistent hard contact. Maintains balance and rhythm through contact. Recorded 96 mph exit velocity; ran a 7.50 laser-timed 60.

6.23.15 - Clearly the best catcher at the ProCase, Ferri shined both during the workout portion and in game play. The Arizona State recruit has a slender 5-foot-11, 180-pound frame, but is wiry strong. A top-level receiver with advanced, highly athletic feet, Ferri was clocked at 82 mph from the crouch while firing consistent 1.87-1.93 strikes during the workout. He also threw a 1.97 pop time in game play. Offensively, Ferri has a balanced, simple approach with quick hands and his bat stays flat through the zone longer than most of his peers. Simply put, Ferri has a knack for barreling up baseballs, as he showed in game play. He went 2-for-3 with a double to right-center field and a single. To finish off his stellar day, Ferri pitched an inning, filling up the strike zone with 87-89 mph fastballs from a high-3/4 slot (we’ve seen him up to 91 in the past). Ferri also ran a 7.25 laser-timed 60.

4.6.15 - 5-foot-11, 175-pound, right-handed hitting C/RHP. Currently ranked No. 7 in the Illinois Class of 2016 Rankings. Committed to Arizona State. Impressed most on the mound working from a high ¾ arm angle with a short, loose, quick arm action. Works downhill with all pitches. Fastball sat 88-91 mph in his one inning of work. Features both a slider and a curveball. Slider is best secondary offering with 10-4 shape tight rotation and late sharp action at 80 mph. Curveball showed 12-6 shape with occasional sharp action at 74-75 mph.  At the plate hits from a balanced setup with a short smooth leg-lift trigger. Showed a short quick swing with good feel for the barrel. Solid, hard contact every at bat, going 3-4 in the game. Behind the plate shows good flexibility in the lower half and soft hands receiving. Big time arm strength, pops from 1.90-2.00 between innings, quick transfer and release. High level 2-way prospect.

3.27.15 - Committed to Arizona State.

2.15.15 - Notre Dame commit. 5-foot-11, 175-pound two-way player, medium frame, athletic build, big arm strength. On the mound worked strictly from the stretch, clean delivery, good direction. Arm action is quick and loose, separates hands early, high ¾ slot. Fastball had slight run, sat 90 mph, finished well through the zone. Curveball has 11/5 shape, 71-73 mph. Changeup showed sink, 78-81 mph, had feel. Slider was best secondary, late 10/4 action, 77-78 mph. Defensively showed excellent arm strength, 80 mph out of the crouch, advanced carry and accuracy, dropped every throw on the bag. Pop times ranged from 1.84-1.91, premium catch and throw prospect. Offensively hits from a balanced stance, smooth load with short stride, excellent balance. Barrell aware, good path, backspun the baseball, line drive guy, long finish. 90 mph exit velocity from the tee. 7.46 runner in the 60.

4/19/14 - Ranked No. 9 in Illinois and No. 35 overall. Verbally committed to Notre Dame as a catcher. On Saturday, was the first time we’ve seen him pitch. Definitely has future on mound as well. Arm works exceedingly well, clean and easy, high-3/4 slot. Excellent rhythm and tempo, athletic, simple delivery, repeats well, overall strike thrower. In three-inning relief stint, sat primarily at 85 mph, touching 86 once. Worked both sides of the plate. Only flashed his curveball a handful of times, but it looks like it can be a go-to outpitch when needed. Throws curveball with good arm action, out of the same window, tight spin and sharp 11/5 bite. Throws pitch for strikes. … Highly advanced offensive approach. Relaxed, balanced setup, quick hands, bat stays flat in zone for long time. Lined a double to right-center field.

11/30/13 - Verbally committed to Notre Dame in November of his sophomore year.

5/4/13 - Varsity starting catcher and top-of-the-order hitter as freshman. Shows advanced footwork for age behind plate. Receives exceptionally well and has athletic feet. Shows accurate arm with pop times ranging between 2.19-2.3 between innings. Currently ranked No. 14 in Illinois’ 2016 class.
