The multi-talented Brown earned PBR third-team All-State honors last spring after he enjoyed tremendous success, both at the plate and on the mound. Blessed with an extremely strong arm (he was clocked at 91 mph from the OF), the switch-hitting Brown batted .467 with 33 RBI and 39 runs scored. On the mound, he went 9-2 with a 1.63 ERA and 114 strikeouts in 60 innings. ... Brown showed off the strongest arm of the day, topping out at an impressive 91 mph from the outfield. Brown moves athletically and plays through the ball well. At the plate, 5-foot-7, 155-pound Brown is a switch-hitter who displayed quick hands and a compact swing from both sides of the plate. Brown takes an aggressive approach, as he sprayed line drives to all fields. On the mound the left-hander exhibited a quick arm action with a fastball that came in at 83 with arm side run. All-around talent has plus arm and quick bat from both sides. As the top-ranked prospect at the event � and one of the more impressive players in the sophomore class - the switch-hitting athlete showed incredibly well in all facets of the game. The 5-foot-7, 150-pounder clearly had the best positional arm strength, as he topped at 87 mph from the outfield, and he moves fluidly. Offensively, Brown was impressive from both sides of the plate, demonstrating quick hands and sound hitting mechanics while peppering line drives from the left and right sides. He was also a strong performer on the mound, consistently pounding the zone with his 80 mph fastball.
