Hurled a complete game shutout for the Tornados in their sectional semi-final win over Harrisburg, scattering five hits while punching out five. Simple and controlled delivery, works in a controlled tempo to balance point and gets down the mound in a tall/fall type pattern. Linear strider, front foot lands in line to target, square athletic finish. Short and simple arm spiral, finishes out of a loose high ¾ slot. Fastball touched 89 early, sat 85-88 mph, played straight and favored the corners. Landed a 73-75 mph curveball with depth and gradual action for strikes. Lowered slot and decelerated intent on his changeup, spotted it down in the zone at 73-74 mph. A strike-thrower with confidence in all three of his pitches that’s set to debut on the Illinois’ 2023 rankings next update.
