Presenting a projectable 6-foot, 162-pound frame, Evans would show a developing two-way profile throughout the weekend. At the plate, the right-handed hitter presented a line-drive approach with developing bat speed & some present feel for the barrel. On the mound, the right-handed arm would get the Saturday morning start and would throw three innings while allowing a singular earned run and collecting four strikeouts. Showed an upper-70s fastball that would top out at 80 mph.
RHP Andrew Evans (St. Charles East, 2027) impressed with an easy operation throughout our look. Working from a tall and simple delivery, Evans remains athletic and in-line with a balanced finish. His arm plays from a short draw out of the glove into a high ¾ release, creating arm-speed out front. His fastball played with efficient spin and a steep angle at 81-82 mph, playing with some ride and late arm-side life. His slider looks to be a potential out-pitch, flashing above-average sweeper action in the 71-72 mph range. Lastly, his changeup is an above-average third offering, mimicking his fastball’s shape and intent, 75-76 mph.
