Missouri St. Louis commit, currently ranked No. 142 in the state. Big power upside in his 6-foot-2, 193-pound frame, still holds room for added strength and physicality in the coming years. Started behind the dish for the Tigers and hit out of the five-hole, finishing 1-for-3 with an RBI on the day. The right-handed hitter has a simple swing with a controlled turn through the baseball, creates easy bat-speed, showed the ability to cover the plate with a single through the left side on a pitch on the outer-half, going out and getting the pitch with strong hands. Calm, confident presence in the box, really looks the part as a middle of the order type bat at the next level.
C, Augie Johnes, Edwardsville, 2025 Missouri St. Louis commit. Strong, 6-foot-2, 193-pound frame, broad shoulders with room to add on more strength. Started behind the plate and hit out of the six-hole for the Tigers, finishing 1-for-2 with a home run, two RBIs and a run scored. Physical right-handed hitter with power to the whole field, strong hands, stays through the baseball and can drive it to all parts, left the yard with a line-drive homer to right field. Big power potential from the right-handed hitter…..continued to show well with the bat on Friday afternoon as well. Finished 1-for-3 with a loud RBI double to right-center field. Worked hard all game long behind the plate; active and willing blocker. Saved a number of free passes throughout the game. One of the biggest takeaways from the entire Kickoff Classic.
Verbally committed to Missouri-St. Louis.
