LHP Blake Hoffer (Glenbrook South) is an intriguing 6-foot-5, 200-pound southpaw to know. He is a clean and athletic mover downhill with a two-pitch mix. His fastball is clean and lively out of the hand at 83-85 mph (T86) with carry through the zone at an average of 16” of induced vertical break. Playing off the fastball was a short 69-73 mph slider that showed 1/7 shape.
Positional Profile: LHP/1B
Body: 6-5, 200-pounds.
Delivery: Compact, medium leg-lift into balance point, gets momentum moving downhill, works in-line.
Arm Action: LH. Full arm action, high 3/4 slot, hides ball well. Struck out two with one walk, two hits allowed and one run scored in his two innings.
FB: T86, 84-85 mph. Ride with late life, throws mostly glove side. T2272, 2061 average rpm.
SL: 70-73 mph. Sharp, short lateral break. T1949, 1821 average rpm.
A filled-out, 6-foot-5, 200-pound built frame, Hoffer impressed on the mound in his start against Top Tier. The lefty was dominating through his entire outing able to collect six strikeouts before being taken out. His fastball was sitting 82-85 mph and the slider was sitting 70-73 mph. The fastball had a late-in-zone movement that paired well with a slider that was able to generate easy swings and misses. Hoffer has a presence on the mound with a loose and fluid arm that attacked hitters early. Generating easy velocity with a good off-speed pitch, Hoffer is a name to watch in the 2026 uncommitted class.
Uncommitted. Hoffer had an impressive game on the mound in a 6-0 victory over Von Steuben. He threw a complete game with 12 strikeouts, zero hits, zero runs, and five walks.
