Caleb Prendergast (Evanston, 2028) was another young infield prospect with a projectable right-handed swing. Despite an inconsistent round he features quality movement patterns with loose hands, fluidness throughout and stays on-plane. Name to watch in the coming years.
Prendergast ran his fastball up to 81 mph, playing clean out of the hand with occasional run. He then showed the ability to land a 67-68 mph slider that played vertically with short break. Prendergast rounded out his mix with a heavy-fading changeup (avg. 18.8” HM) at 71-74 mph.
Positional Profile: SS/RHP
Body: 5-11, 160 pounds. High-waisted frame with more fill to come.
Hit: RHH. Balanced setup, smooth load and easy stride. Loose easy levers, on time and on-plane. Was on the barrel to both gaps. 69.9 mph bat speed with 6g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 92 mph max exit velocity (87.7 avg.); 318-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 83 mph. 3/4 Arm slot.
Defense: Athletic, quick feet, some bounce in his step, aggressive two-hand gather out front.
Athletic Testing: 7.40 runner in the 60-yard dash; 21.50-inch max vertical jump.

Positional Profile: SS/RHP
Body: 5-11, 160-pounds. Athletic and trim build with room to add more strength.
Delivery: Short rocker step, simple delivery, higher leg kick into balance point, tall/fall lower-half.
Arm Action: RH. Short, compact arm action, 3/4 slot.
FB: T81, 77-80 mph. Clean out of the hand, mostly straight with occasional run. T2161, 2042 average rpm.
SL: 67-68 mph. Short break, plays more vertically. Lands. T2153, 2105 average rpm.
CH: 71-74 mph. Plays with heavy fade, sink. T1986, 1909 average rpm.
