Uncommitted. Listed at 5-foot-9, 136-pounds, started at second base and batted third for Mundelein. Weiss’s defense is what stood out the most from this look, as he made play after play throughout the game while showing advanced actions for his age. He had range to both his left and right and trusted his hands to consistently make plays for him while at times getting tough bounces off the dirt. His best play came to end the game as a ground ball was hit deep into the hole between first and second base, as Weiss got to the ball he did a full spin to make an on-target throw to clinch the victory for the Mustangs. Weiss also showed the ability to be a high-contact bat from the left-side with a feel for situational hitting.

INF Johnny Weiss (Mundelein, 2026) looked the part as a left-handed hitting table-setter for Hitters all weekend. 5-foot-9, 140-pounds, lean with plenty of room to add on strength. Weiss has a simple and smooth stroke, staying flat through the zone and consistently staying on-time, wearing out the middle of the field with line-drive singles. Above-average bat to ball skills with limited swing and miss.
Weiss was a fun watch in his outing against GRB Rays Yellow. Weiss throws out of a submarine slot from the right side with consistent movement on his pitches. His FB sat 65-67 mph with sinking action. His breaking ball sat 56-59 mph with sharp break and consistently got swings and misses showing out-pitch potential.
