LHP Lance Cuddy (Coal City, 2026) is an uncommitted crafty left-handed pitcher to know. Lean 6-foot, 158-pound frame with room for added strength. Athletic mover with a high coiled leg lift into a directional tall-and-fall delivery. Clean, full arm circle with a ¾ slot. Featured a quality two-pitch mix. Attacked with a riding fastball (max 17.6 IVB) at 82-83 mph that generated swing-and-miss up in the zone. Mixed in a high spinning breaking ball with a max of 2,547 rpms at 67-69 mph with feel to throw it in any count. Struck out two over two scoreless innings.

Uncommitted, currently ranked the No. 197 prospect in Illinois’s 2026 class. Coming in at a high-waisted 6-foot, 165-pound frame, Cuddy showed some quality bat-to-ball skills in Thursday’s 9-0 win. The left-handed hitter operates out of a balanced setup, featuring a toe-tap stride, with loose hands into a direct path. Cuddy finished 1-for-2 at the plate, finding a barrel to deep center field for a ground-rule double. Cuddy would also get the start Sunday afternoon in bracket play, giving an intriguing look from the left side. The left-hander would toss five and ⅓ innings, striking out three while allowing two earned runs. Showing a solid two-pitch mix with the fastball sitting 82-84 mph and the curveball sitting 65-66 mph, able to miss barrels and induce weak contact early in his outing.

LHP Lance Cuddy (Coal City) stood out as an athletic arm with a knack to spin the breaking ball. He cruised comfortably in the 79-81 mph range with his fastball, playing with heavy arm-side run and some carry; setting up his curveball with over 2,300 rpm on average, playing at 66-69 mph and landing it for strikes. His final offering was a changeup around 75 mph that he could dump in for strikes.
