CIF Sam Mitre (Marquette Academy) is a physical 6-foot, 242-pound right-handed hitter who showed well during both the workout and gameplay. Starting with batting practice, Mitre posted some of the louder numbers for the entire event with a max exit velocity of 101.2 mph, an average exit velocity of 93 mph, and a max batted ball distance of 357 feet. The power translated into gameplay where he was consistently on the barrel, showing the ability to hit for power to all fields.
Positional Profile: 1B/3B
Body: 5-11, 242.7-pounds.
Hit: RHH. Balanced setup, minimal stride, hands load back, linear lower-half. Extra leverage out front, pull-side approach. 76.9 mph bat speed with 35 G’s of rotational acceleration.
Power: 101 max exit velocity, averaged 93 mph. 357’ max distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 65 mph. Longer arm action, 3/4 slot.
Defense: Steady hands, fields ball to body, clean transfer.
Run: 7.55 runner in the 60.
1B Sam Mitre (Marquette, 2025) put together one of the loudest rounds of BP on the day. The right-handed hitter led the entire event in exit velocity, maxing out at 97.5 mph with an average of 90.8 mph throughout his round. He displayed strong hands, staying on the barrel to the whole field while also looking to stay through the ball the other way. His BLAST metrics were off the charts; boasting an average hand-speed of 24 mph (T25.8 mph), average bat-speed of 76.8 mph (T80.5 mph) and average rotational acceleration of 28.9 G’s (T33.2 G’s).

Body: 6-1, 220-pounds. Athletic build, long levers.
Hit: RHH. Hands rock back with rhythm into footstrike, medium stride. Strong hands, on the barrel to the whole field, looks to stay through the ball the other way. 76.8 mph bat speed with 29 G’s of rotational acceleration.

Stands in a sturdy and strong build. Batted fifth and started at first base. Mitre went 2-for-4 on the day with two doubles and two RBIs. Barreled up two balls that were nearly home runs. Consistently barrels up the baseball with authority and creates a tough out for opposing pitchers; present power in the bat. Mitre will likely continue to be a big bat in Marquette’s lineup for years to come.
