Profile: 6-foot-1, 205 pounder w a leaner-more athletic look that I've seen of him in the past. Burned a 6.56 60-yard dash while reaching 100-plus exits to allow for power/speed LH profile. Creates present plus bat speed (79 mph avg). 87 mph arm from the OF. Likely still profiles to a Corner OF spot, though run time elevating open CF possibilities, & is a serviceable 1B.
Actions - Offense: Starts tall before a subtle sink into heavier forward move. Rigidness to the upper body in the load, holds angles as he works out. Front foot hitter at times. Turns the barrel with present bat speed and fast hands on more upward path. Present strength from middle of the field to pullside foul pole.
Summation: Cope continues to develop as a freakish athlete while polishing up his baseball skills in total. The 6.56 60-time is super intriguing considering the mass that he has to carry in order to do so. He creates a ton of ground force that shows up in advanced batted ball metrics and bat speed. The left-handed bat and versatile defensive profile also works in his favor with a LH run-producers' profile standing out most.

Cope is one of the more-physical left-handed bats available in Indiana's 2026 class and showed well in a showcase setting at the Bulls Scout Day. Looking like a linebacker in the box with a muscular, 6-foot-2, 205 pound frame, Cope generates powerful bat speed that provided 100 mph exit velocities in batting practice. The swing works in a rotational fashion, with a tendency to spin, but his best hacks produce some of the loudest contact in the class. Cope is a very solid straight-line runner, turning in a 6.91 60, adding to the offensive profile and allowing for enough range to man a corner outfield spot at the next level.

+ '26 1B/OF Blake Cope (Zionsville) has been a helium '26 throughout the back-half of the 2023 season and he reaffirmed that status with one of, if not the best, showing of any player at the Hoosier Holiday. There’s no shortage of physicality with Cope, who holds plenty of inherent strength within a 6-foot-2, 195 pound frame. That strength was on full display during batting practice, where the left-handed slugger posted the top exit velocity of the day, reaching 100 mph. Displaying tremendous bat speed with bat strength to pair - there is natural lift to the pull-side as Cope delivers his barrel to the front of the hitting zone. Cope now holds the top exit velocity in Indiana's 2026 class, assuring the statement we made HERE, where we ranked Cope as the top uncommitted power hitter in the class. Along with a strong offensive showing, the Zionsville product posted the top infield arm of the event, reaching 84 mph across the diamond, while also posting a 6.90 60. Already a name-to-know prospect to our staff, Cope heads into the winter with plenty of positive momentum behind him.

Weight shifts into the back leg as he lifts the barrel to a position to launch, uses a leg lift stride. Rhythm is a bit choppy during the loading process. Creates tremendous bat speed for the age while turning an uphill barrel through the hitting zone. Obvious raw power with more to come. Top ranked 1B in the 2026 class. Power: 92 max exit velocity, averaged 82.2 mph. 320' max distance. Arm: LH. INF-81 mph. OF-78 mph. Moderate length to the arm swing, releases from an over-the-top slot. Defense: (OF) - Athletic approach, shows sure hands and a natural exchange. (1B) - Quick, athletic feet when working off the bag. Shows sure hands and a natural exchange. ATH: 6.84 runner in the 60.
