60 Yard Dash: 7.58
Exit Velocity: 90
Positional Arm: 73
Pop-Time: 2.09-2.15
Polgano stands 5-foot-10, 155-pound frame. No stranger to PBR in his 4th event. Offensively- Continues to show an aggressive approach in the box with a fluid compact swing. Defensively- impresses at the corner with easy glove work and quick soft hands, above average arm-strength.
Polgano stands 5-foot-10, 155-pounds with a lean athletic build, signs of more height to come from his wiry frame. Improved his 60-time from a 7.91 to 7.24. In the box very relaxed approach, slightly open stance with hands relaxed by his shoulder. On the pitch he uses a small leg lift, back load for timing, hands power to the ball on a short direct path, barrel is level through contact with full extension. 92 mph exit velocity with power signs to his pull-side. Defensively worked out as a catcher/3B. Behind the plate he receives from a wide stance big open target, soft hands, active footwork. Kept his throws to the 1B side of 2B with carry at 73 mph arm strength, 2.05 best pop-time recorded and we expect that to lower with more reps. At 3B very relaxed to the ball, clean quick glove-to-hand transfer, throws from a high-3/4 slot with carry at 81 mph. Overall, Polgano shows all the tools of a next-level player. Added body strength and increased foot-speed will help him separate.
Polgano, a 2019 right-handed hitting third baseman/RHP currently ranked 11th best prospect at third base for the class of 2019, stands at 5-foot-10 and weighs 145 pounds, ran a 4.64 from home to first. Offensively- Starts with a slightly open balanced lower half, both knees inside the feet, while the hands start in front of the back shoulder with the barrel of the bat almost perpendicular to the ground. Gets to the launch phase of the swing using a subtle shift of weight to the back side with the lead foot elevating, slight inward rotation of the lead knee as well, moderate stride landing on the entire foot while the hands are loaded straight back outside the shoulder with a slight drop and barrel of the bat getting to a 45 degree angle. Displayed quick hands and a compact bat path during batting practice, driving the ball on the inner third of the plate well from the pull side line to the center of the field. Recorded an exit velocity of 81 MPH. Impressive looking prospect with an aggressive approach at the plate. Defensively- Uses a pre-pitch hop technique keeping the hands even with the shoulders. Approached the ball with an aggressive, but under control, athletic and fluid body movement. Fielded the ball out in front of the body from the center to left of the body. Transferred the ball from the center of the body waist high. Keeps the transfer in sync with the lower half movements together helping create a good power position. Throws showed good carry and accuracy.
