6-foot-4, 185-pound long, lean, slender righty with room to add strength. Works strictly out the stretch with a quick ¾ arm angle, hides the ball well, gets on hitters late. Fastball topped at 81 mph, has been up to 86 mph in September. Curveball is plus pitch, good tilt with tight downward action at 68-69 mph. Changeup sat between 71-73 mph with good arm deception and run. Chance to be high end guy in class of 2016. Lots to like.
Virdo stands 6-foot-3 180 pounds and has a high ceiling. His fastball sat 82-84 mph but has the late life on it appearing harder. He steps across his body and gets some extra arm side run because of that, not sure if I would change it or not, works for him. His 69 mph slider had nice sweep to it with 10/4 shape. Virdo is definitely a projectable pitcher at the next level.
