One of the most productive performers for the Pacific Northwest team down at the 2021 Future Games, Gosztola has a track record of getting it done in competition. The Gonzaga commit is gritty and mature on the bump, with the ability to bounce back & consistently pitch out of jams. Gosztola showed a nice jump with his FB, pitching in the 85-86 range while continuing to command his 2/7 CB in the 70-72 range. Working from a high, very over the top slot, he creates a unique release point and a tougher angle that hitters don’t see often. While he can get in a groove while pitching to contact & getting quick outs, there’s plenty of aptitude to generate swings and misses. If the FB continues to trend up, Gosztola should be extremely difficult to generate offense against this season. The CB and CH will be there in big spots when he needs them as well. Overall he’s still incredibly lean and projectable as well with an ideal starter’s frame.
‘23 LHP Miles Gosztola (West Seattle) followed up with another scoreless appearance of his own, this time for 2 complete innings. The lanky lefty continued to attack with his FB, getting up to 85 and showing a willingness to work both sides of the plate. He knows how to get the most out of what he has on a given day. There’s a noticeable competitiveness from Gosztola when he’s on the bump and he’s established himself as one of the best remaining uncommitted arms in the state.
