Hit: RHH. Balanced, relaxed look in the box. Slight leg-kick trigger, lands on balance. Strong, quick hands, direct path, uses the whole field and quality jump off the barrel. 74.1 mph bat speed with 15 G’s of rotational acceleration.
Power: 94 max exit velocity, averaged 85.9 mph. 334’ max distance.
Arm: RH. OF - 88 mph. Quick trigger, short arm action into a 3/4 slot.
Defense: One hand gather, shuffle to throw, proper routes.
Run: 6.98 runner in the 60.
1B/OF Bennett Cagle (Edgewood, 2025) came away as one of the biggest winners of the weekend, displaying his natural and improved power at the plate. In an athletic 6-foot-3, 185-pound frame, Cagle presents a short, direct swing to the ball. In an effortless fashion, the right-handed hitter collected two home runs in his first game on Sunday – one to straight away centerfield and the other to the pull-side. After exiting the Milwaukee Open as a standout prospect in Wisconsin’s 2025 class, Cagle followed it up with a strong summer and maintained his momentum in the fall. His long and physical frame projects well for the future as he begins his junior year.
Positional Profile: OF/1B
Body: 6-3, 179-pounds. Long limbs. Broad shoulders.
Hit: RHH. Sits backside, deliberate/quick forward move. Gets into a strong hitting position with controlled move, hands are quick and direct with flat path through the ball, drives to both gaps. 71.6 mph bat speed with 15 G’s of rotational acceleration.
Power: 94 max exit velocity, averaged 88.3 mph. 295’ max distance.
Arm: RH. OF - 80 mph. Long draw, 3/4 slot, carries through to home, accurate.
Defense: One hand gather, shuffle step towards target.
Run: 7.41 runner in the 60.
Built at a long 6-foot-3, 179-pounds OF Bennett Cagle (Madison Edgewood, 2025) provided an upside look during our time in Franklin. He would start off his day by recording a number of low-90 EVs from a short and direct path, working the ball into both gaps with ease. During his round, Cagle registered line drives 55% of the time, per our TrackMan units, which led all players in attendance, too. Defensively in the outfield, Cagle is an athletic mover, and pairs it with an accurate arm that produced throws up to 80 mph to home. Tuesday provided us with our first look at Cagle in over a year, and it definitely did not disappoint as he is a name to monitor as he continues to develop as a prospect.
Cagle is a lanky 6-foot-1, 165-pound athlete with loose, whippy levers and plenty of future upside attached. A hockey standout, Cagle handled a few upper-level arms well throughout the week behind the plate at the Junior Future Games. He’s still refining his abilities as a receiver, but the potential for him to stick behind the plate is present. In the right-handed batter’s box, Cagle swings an aggressive bat and his frame suggests he can grow into an offensive asset as well, as he continues to develop.
