OF/RHP Braylen Nystrom (Stevens Point Area, 2024) showed off some intriguing two-way potential during Saturday’s event. To start his workout, Nystrom recorded a 6.99 time in the 60-yard dash and followed it up with a quality overall ‘pen. Out of the stretch only, the righty works downhill well, and pairs it with a loose arm the created fastball highs of 82.8 mph. He also spun in a quality 12/6 breaking ball with sharp break that he was able to locate in the zone. Offensively, Nystrom utilizes a direct swing to hit line drives to all fields and created exit velocities up to 93.2 mph.

Nystrom went on to reach an 82 mph high from the outfield and it translated onto the mound on a projectable fastball that reached a 79.1 mph high, spinning at an average of 2,321 rpm. The curve also projects, spinning at a 2,306 rpm average here, so he’ll be a name to check back in on the rest of this year and again next spring at SPASH.
