OF/RHP Drew Van Oss (West De Pere, 2024) made for a good two-way look during Saturday’s showcase. Listed at athletic 5-foot-10, 175 pounds, Van Oss started his day by running a 7.11 60-yard dash and then followed that up with a solid overall ‘pen. On the mound, Van Oss ran his fastball up to 85.3 mph and it played with life and carry through the zone, around 16 inches of induced vertical break on average. He was also able to spin in a 12/6 breaking ball at 2,500 rpm, and for strikes. To finish off his three-pitch mix, he showed feel for a firm changeup that he effectively killed spin on, with fade and late depth. Offensively, Van Oss sets up with a narrow base and utilizes some hand speed that allows him to drive the ball with some uphill loft to the middle and his pull-side. During his round he registered a max exit velocity of 92.7 mph. Overall, it was a quality showing on both sides of the ball from this two-way prospect and he is certainly an arrow up name as we head into the high school season.
