RHP Garrett Shupe (Mosinee, 2024) is an upside 6-foot-3, 190-pound right-hander to note from the weekend's talented tournament. On the mound, Shupe is a controlled and fluid mover, pairing it with a loose arm. In his outing, Shupe sat in the 85-87 mph range with his fastball that he pounded the zone with. His breaking ball, which spun at over 2,500 RPM at times, played with 11/5 action and flashed sharpness. After a big showing at the Eastern Wisconsin Open just last month, Shupe continues to trend in the right direction following his performance at The Rock.
RHP Garrett Shupe (Mosinee, 2024) made for an impressive look during our time in Sheboygan and is certainly an arrow-up name following this event. Listed at a long 6-foot-3, 185-pounds with upside attached, Shupe is a controlled mover on the bump with repeatable mechanics and a loose arm. During his ‘pen, Shupe’s fastball sat strictly 88-89 mph and his hardest pitch came in at 89.2 mph. Off of his fastball, Shupe spun in a tight 10/4 curveball that he spun at an above-average rate (2,457 RPM avg.). He was also effectively able to kill spin on a changeup that played with downer action at times in the bottom half of the zone. Shupe seems to have been hard at work since our previous look at him in the winter, as he has made some big strides to his game. He is certainly an uncommitted name-to-know inside of the Badger State’s 2024 class.
Positional Profile: RHP
Body: 6-3, 185-pounds.
Delivery: Controlled tempo, high, athletic leg lift, drop and drive lower-half, works slightly across body in stride.
Arm Action: RH. Long/loose arm swing, high 3/4 slot.
FB: T89, 88-89 mph. Has life out of the hand, plays like a 4-seam, ride up through the zone. T2279, 2198 average rpm.
CB: 73-76 mph. Short, tight, 10/4 shape, feel for both sides of the zone. T2542, 2457 average rpm.
CH: 75-76 mph. Downer action at times, plays well at the bottom of the zone. T1148, 1007 average rpm.
Positional Profile: RHP/OF
Body: 6-2, 175-pounds. Tall build with some present strength, projectable.
Delivery: Side-step windup into high leg kick with toe point.
Arm Action: RH. Long, loose, clean arm, 3/4 slot.

CB: 74-76 mph. Some feel, 11/5 action. T0, 0 average rpm.

RHP Garrett Shupe (Mosinee, 2024) has made some big improvements on the mound since our last look at him in the summer. Listed at a long 6-foot-2, 175-pounds, Shupe boasts some high-upside in his frame and on the mound he is a clean but raw mover. As for his repertoire he featured a hard-running fastball that sat 83-85 T85.6 mph and averaged over a foot of horizontal movement. While is still developing full feel for his offspeed pitches they all did flash some out-pitch potential, with the first being a 11/5 curveball that he spun at a rate of 2194 rpm on average. He also flashed feel for a changeup with downer action and a cutter that played mostly straight with occasional cutting action in the zone.
Shupe came away a winner on Monday after his strong showing on the mound. The 6-foot-2, 175-pound right-hander ran his fastball in the 81-83 mph range with life through the zone. He showed the ability to spin both his 11/5 curveball and short 10/4 cutter at an above-average rate, reaching over 2,300 rpm on both offerings. To round off his arsenal, Shupe went to a changeup at 73-75 mph, fading slightly to his arm-side and thrown with arm-speed.
